We are the Leiden Debating Union!
Should minors be allowed to vote? Should Europe be more open to refugees? Should your student loan be rent free?
The Leiden Debating Union represents the Leiden student debate community. Have you always know what you wanted to say on these important topics, but never known how to say it? Are you done being the quiet one in the group while having the best ideas? We teach our members how to become masters of public speaking, argumentation and rhetoric. Additionally, we also help you build an amazing friend group with which we go out for pub nights, game nights, and arcade adventures ;). No specific knowledge is required! With our society, you can enter in competitions all over the world, where you polish your thinking and speaking skills. To make sure our members become top-class debaters, we hosts workshops, lectures and two nights of debating in British Parliamentary style every week. And don’t worry - to make sure all our members feel welcome, our nights are both in Dutch and English.
